Stop for a moment and think about eight women you know; chances are one of them will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. It's a frightening thought, isn't it? Every 13 minutes, the disease will claim another life. I have three beautiful daughters. I also have a beautiful daughter-in-law who has recently blessed us with our first grandchild. The thought that one of these young women might be stricken with breast cancer is almost too much to bear.

But, we can't go through life ignoring what what makes us uncomfortable. So I'm making a commitment to do my part to fight this disease. I've joined the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk and I'll be walking over sixty miles from Santa Barbara to Malibu in October. I'm asking you to support me in this cause.

In fact, I'm giving you the easy way out--you can support this cause financially and I'll do the hard part. (And, trust me sixty miles in three days is nothing to sneeze at in my current physical condition!)
